CROWDO Shares Insights on Challenging License Acquisition Process in Indonesia

Jakarta, January 17, 2020 – PT Mediator Komunitas Indonesia (CROWDO) participated in a panel discussion hosted by Indonesia Fintech Lending Association (AFPI) with the topic “Official Licensing from Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK)”. CROWDO was invited to this panel discussion because CROWDO had officially obtained its license for Online Lending from the OJK with a letter of permission number KEP-133/D.05/2019 on Friday, December 13, 2019. Obtaining the official license is a critical next step for the 119 only registered platforms which have yet to successfully complete this process.

As the representative of CROWDO, Nur Vitriani (Chief Operating Officer) gave strong insights into points related to official licensing from the OJK, including:

  1. Ensure compliance with all rules and regulations from OJK
  2. All Online Lending Platforms should have proactive and transparent communications with the OJK
  3. Ensure punctuality to work on the OJK’s strict operational, business and technology requirements

“Through our official license, we would like to invite all Online Lending Platforms to create a healthy and strong financial ecosystem in order to enhance Indonesia’s economy.” Added by Nur Vitriani

The audiences showed an enthusiasm as it is seen that there are many questions asked to Nur Vitriani regarding CROWDO’s capability to obtain ISO/IEC 270012013 certification from the British Standars Institution (BSI) regarding Information Security Management as well as questions related to live demo and onsite visit from OJK to get the license.

This panel discussion was also very important forum for CROWDO to share experiences in obtaining license and also the capability to provide services for Indonesia society which is aimed to increase financial inclusion.
