Leo’s winning moment in Bangkok!
On November 25th, iStart participants had the opportunity to pitch to the judges for approximately three minutes. The pitches were different in that the start-ups were not pitching for funds as much as they were pitching for strategic partnerships to help expand into the local Thai market and/or find partners they could expand regionally with.
Crowdfunding has a lot of potential in Thailand, especially with its growing number of entrepreneurs, as well as a large market of potential funders. Looks like the program’s mentors see this potential too, as they chose Crowdonomic as the winner of the pitching challenge.
What is iStart@Thailand?
The iSTART@Thailand program is part of a series of market access support provided to Singaporean companies. Organized by Expara, iSTART@Thailand aims to help Singaporean companies expand into the Thai market. Through this program, participating companies can understand market dynamics, and connect with key individuals with the intent of securing customers, resellers, partners, and investors – via a variety of targeted meetings, events and workshops organized for the delegation.
This program, held from 18th November to 29th November, represented the first delegation trip. A follow-up trip will be made in January, 2014.
More about the pitches can be read here. (You’ll have to sharpen your Thai skills though!)
